What is the opening date of the ski station?

When Mother Nature allows for a fair amount of snow, the ski hill can usually open around mid-December.

When can I sign up for the ski school or purchase my season's pass?

Each year, registration for the ski school (8 week program, Christmas Camp and March Break Camp) and season's passes starts as of September 1st. No applications are processed before that date.

How can I register?

From September 1st to November 30, the Mont Rigaud registration system allows you to proceed with our « online » registration through secure payment. Your registration will be processed on the business day following the reception of your registration.

Is there a minimum age to register for a group class?

Yes. The minimum age is 3 years old.

What date do group lessons start on?

The group lessons starts in late December or early January, depending on the program.

How long in advance can I book a private lesson?

Private or semi-private lessons can be booked up to 7 days before the desired date.

This is my first experience. Do you offer packages for beginners?

Yes. Skiers and snowboarders aged 6 years and older may register for an initiation clinic including equipment rental, a lift ticket for the full day and 1 hour lesson (in a group). This package is offered daily at 10am or at 1pm. Reservations are required.

How soon can I take possession of the equipment rented for the season?

Equipment rentals can be obtained from mid-November and must be returned no later than the first weekend of April. You will be subjected to a penalty, per day/per equipment, if you omit to return the equipment back by this date.

When can we get our season pass?

Every year, we start taking pictures and printing season passes around mid-October.

In winter, what are your opening hours?

We are open every day, from 9am to 9pm.
Our administrative office is open Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Is the magic carpet open during the week?

The magic carpet is open every day from 9am to 5pm.

Am I allowed to accompany, with or without equipment, my child on the magic carpet?

No. A person that accompanies (with or without equipment) a beginner skier or snowboarder on the magic carpet or at the bottom of the hill must also buy, at the minimum, a magic carpet ticket.

Do I have to purchase a lift ticket during a private lesson or a group class?

No. Access to the lifts is included in the private lesson or group class (only).

If you wish to ski before or after a private lesson or a group class, you then need to purchase a lift ticket or season pass.


Is a helmet mandatory?

We recommend that all skiers and snowboarders wear a helmet regardless of their skill level. Nonetheless, the helmet is mandatory in the snow park.

Do snowboarders need to wear a leash?

Yes. A leash is mandatory for all snowboarders.

Is there a family plan for a day of skiing?

Yes. When purchasing a full day lift ticket, a special rate is available for families (2 adults + 2 juniors OR 1 adult + 3 juniors).

Is a daycare available for children?

No. Unfortunately, we do not offer daycare.

Do you offer tune-up service (waxing and sharpening)?

Yes. We offer tune-up service (waxing and sharpening) on weekdays (Monday to Friday) only. For pricing information, please inquire at the ski shop.

Which payment methods are accepted at Mont Rigaud?

We accept payment by credit card (Visa or MasterCard), Interac and cash.

Do the prices indicated on your site include taxes?

Yes. All prices shown on our website include taxes.

Where can I leave my belongings in the chalet?

Lockers ($1) are available on the lower floor.

Hooks are also available along the walls in the cafeteria where you can hang your bags and lunch boxes. Mont Rigaud is not responsible for lost or stolen items.


Is there a canteen?

Yes. In winter, our cafeteria is open on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 8:30am to 8pm and weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 8am to 8pm.

Is there a section of the chalet reserved for adults only?

Yes. After 6pm, during weekends (Saturday and Sunday), the bistro section is reserved for guests aged 18 years old and over.

At what age should I allow my child to ski alone?

Parents are in the best position to know if their child is mature and responsible enough to spend a few hours without the presence of an adult. However, according to the Canada Safety Council and the Director of Youth Protection (DYP), parents should not leave without adult supervision a child under 12 years of age.
