A NEW ERA AT MONT RIGAUD: THE POMA EXPRESS!

INSTALLATION IS PROGRESSING QUICKLY


Great news! This winter, the newly installed Poma Express quad chairlift will be operating on weekends, during Christmas and March breaks!

Since our last update, we've made significant progress:


- The operation buildings are complete and equipped


- All 10 towers are installed, with the pulley systems in place


- Next-gen RFID automated gates from Skidata are ready for action

Despite some unexpected challenges and delays, we're confident that the Poma Express will be ready for the 2024-25 winter season.

NEXT STEPS


The next phases of installation are scheduled for the coming days and weeks.

We'll soon install the 2,200-foot cable that will carry the 96 chairs. After that, we'll perform a critical step: splicing the cable and conducting inspections. This involves joining the ends of the cable by intertwining the strands, ensuring a smooth, strong, and uniform cable. Once that's done, we'll install the chairs, program the system, and run the final tests before we welcome you aboard.

With a capacity of 2,400 skiers per hour, the Poma Express will double our lift capacity, drastically reducing your wait time at the base. Once at the top, you'll be able to access all of our trails from both lifts.

This is a major investment for all the ski enthusiasts in the region. Future generations of skiers will enjoy this new lift for years to come, and we couldn't be prouder to make it happen.
